BRING JOY TO YOUR COWORKERS’ FAMILIES IN NEED THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!
To help spread the magic of giving, Human Resources is proud to coordinate the third annual USF Community Giving Tree. We hope you will consider donating a gift to brighten a child’s holiday or offering to be a drop-off location for gifts.
Employees in need can discreetly submit their children’s gift wishes. Fellow USF employees have the ability to anonymously sponsor one or more of the children from the Giving Tree with a gift. Last year, generous USF employees supported the wish lists of 107 children!
Gifts will be collected December 12-16 at locations around the Tampa campus and then distributed to the parents/guardians of the children December 21-22 in the Human Resources office (SVC 2172). For more information about the USF Community Giving Tree, call 813.974.2970 or visit the USF Community Giving Tree website.
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP SOS
Stampede of Service (SOS) is USF’s largest day of service and this year’s one-day event takes place Saturday, January 14th. Volunteers are needed to support the SOS Kick-Off event by assisting with various tasks such as participant check-in, t-shirt distribution, breakfast distribution, signage posting, vehicle directing and more. We encourage you to participate and support an annual tradition that engages students in community service. Volunteers will receive a limited edition t-shirt, breakfast, and the immense satisfaction of helping USF’s largest service project of the year! Register as a volunteer on the CLCE Website.
PREVENTIVE CARE IS THE KEY TO EARLY DETECTION
Thanks to improvements in treatment and early detection, millions of women are surviving breast cancer today. The State of Florida health plan for USF employees offers coverage for preventive care. Mammograms are included as preventive care and may be reimbursed at 100% of the allowed amount depending on the PPO or HMO you selected. For more information, visit the myBenefits website.
Whether you or a loved one is worried about developing breast cancer, making decisions about treatment, or trying to stay well after treatment, the American Cancer Society website is a wonderful resource that provides detailed information about breast cancer, the importance of early detection, how to find support, treatment options, and more.
Best wishes from Sandy Lovins and team for a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and a terrific long weekend. Enjoy your time off!
