CELEBRATING 35 YEARS AT USF
February 11th marked 35 years of service at USF for John Crosby, Associate Director of Facilities Planning & Construction. John's colleagues in Facilities Planning & Construction surprised him with a giant decorated chocolate chip cookie (his favorite) and balloons to celebrate achieving this milestone.
John joined USF in 1977 as the University's architectural planning consultant. During his
35 years with USF, John has been responsible for coordinating and assisting in the planning
of physical changes to the Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota/Manatee, and Lakeland (Polytechnic) campuses. He has also served as an Interim Director of Facilities Planning & Construction.
Please join us in congratulating John on 35 years of outstanding service to USF!
PHYSICAL PLANT EMPLOYEES SPORT NEW UNIFORM SHIRTS
Physical Plant employees are proudly sporting new uniform shirts that clearly brand USF. The shirt worn by Steve Bury and Mike Fetzer (first two on the left) is the shirt used Monday through Thursday. The shirts worn by Roosevelt Wilson, Marcelino Rivera and Jose Rivera-Rodriguez (pictured together on the right) are the Friday "USF Spirit" shirts.
We know you will agree that these new shirts are definitely awesome!
It's official! The new Interdisciplinary Science Teaching & Research (ISA) building has
attained LEED Gold Certification. All 40 of the attempted credits were attained. ISA is the second new building on the USF Tampa Campus to be awarded the LEED Gold rating – the first being the Patel Center for Global Solutions.
This achievement is another example of USF's
continued commitment to creating an environmentally-conscious campus. USF is one of a small number of universities to receive a Gold Rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (2011). The University was also ranked 47th by the Sierra Club in its annual "America's Coolest Schools" list for advances in sustainability (2011).
Congratulations to the Facilities Planning & Construction project team involved with the construction and LEED certification of this beautiful addition to the USF Tampa campus!
