RETIREMENTS

David Wilkerson, Assistant Manager, Custodial Department, Physical Plant, is retiring January 31st after 25 years of service at USF. He joined the University November 9, 1987 as a painter in the maintenance department. In 1988, David was promoted to Maintenance Mechanic, which was then followed by a promotion to Maintenance Supervisor in 2000. Under a reclassification in 2009, his title was changed to Assistant Manager. A friendly, helpful and dedicated employee, David's coworkers will miss his

quiet leadership.

Vern3Jackie (Vern) Woodard, Assistant Manager, Building Maintenance, Physical Plant, is retiring January 31st following 25 years of service at USF. He joined the University January 22, 1988 as an Operating Engineer at the Medical Center and in June of that year, became a Maintenance Mechanic at HSC Physical Plant. Vern was promoted to Maintenance Supervisor in 1990 and then to Maintenance Superintendent in 1993. In 2007, he was promoted to his current position. Vern's knowledge and history of the campus air conditioning systems is exceptional and he is greatly admired for always helping out in an emergency to keep students, faculty, staff and visitors comfortable.

OrchardGary Orchard, Maintenance Technician, Physical Plant, will be retiring and leaving USF on January 31st after nearly 13 years of

service. He joined the University in May 2000. During his time working for USF, Gary has proven that he is skilled in all trades, which made him extremely valuable to the department. Frequently the first person on the job and the last to leave, Gary was always willing to assist and volunteer for after hour work, even in intense situations. He will be greatly missed by his coworkers.

Please join us in wishing David, Vern, and Gary all the best in their retirement.
