USF is committed to providing a safe, healthy and enjoyable learning, living and working environment. Effective January 4, 2016, the USF Tampa Campus will become entirely tobacco and smoke free. For more information, please visit usf.edu/TobaccoFree.
For the health and enjoyment of the USF Tampa campus, smoking is now limited to designated areas on campus. Smoking is not allowed in indoor or outdoor areas, including parking lots, grounds, sidewalks and recreational areas, unless officially designated as a smoking area.
Why USF is Taking This Step
USF is committed to making our campus a healthy place to learn, live and work. By limiting smoking to designated areas, the university hopes to:
- Reduce the risk of secondhand smoke and its health risks to members of the USF community.
- Promote overall wellness for the USF community.
- Create a more attractive campus by containing the waste from smoking products to manageable areas.
The links on the right provide the policy, a map of the designated smoking areas, smoking cessation resources, sample language on how to share information about the policy and details on how to report complaints.
Together, we can make the USF Tampa Campus a cleaner, healthier place for all.
