Affordable

It can be overwhelming when you look at the projected cost of attendance for college these days, and you may be concerned that you will not be able to afford to attend. But, in fact, Florida offers the very lowest tuition rates for Florida residents, and USF offers partial waivers of non-resident fees to high ability out-of-state and international students which can make USF very affordable.

If you need financial assistance, you may be able to qualify for need-based financial aid to assist you in attending USF. As an initial step, be sure you and your parents complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by USF’s priority deadline of March 1st if you plan to enroll in the Summer or Fall term, October 1st for the Spring term.

If you graduated from a Florida high school, as a freshman or as a transfer student, you may be eligible for Florida Bright Futures*. Your parents or another relative may also have been saving for your education with a Florida Pre-Paid investment plan and would be another source for you to afford attending. You may also be eligible for undergraduate admissions scholarships or privately funded USF Foundation scholarships. Finally, we encourage you to search FastWeb, a free search engine for external scholarships, and also apply for private local scholarships in your community or with a parent’s employer.

* Note that their have been some changes to Florida Bright Futures. Visit their website for detailed information.
