FAQ's & Class Policies

  • Tardiness to group fitness classes is not tolerated.  For the safety of our participants and to reduce any distractions during class, no one can be admitted into class once class has started and the door is closed—even if they have a limited access ticket.  If a participant enters a class after it has already began, the instructor will not allow them to participate.Signs indicating this are clearly posted on each door of the group fitness rooms.
  • Limited Access classes: In order to gain access to a Limited Access Class* participants must have a limited access ticket.  Tickets are distributed from the ID desk 15 to 30-minutes before classes begin.    No more than one ticket may be granted per person.  Tickets are handed out on a first come first served basis.  Tickets are in effect to ensure the safety of our participants.

  • Food and drinks are not permitted into the group exercise rooms with the exception of bottled water.

  • Equipment provided in a class (resistance tubing, weights, jump ropes, physio-balls etc.) may not be taken out of the room.

  • Participants are encouraged to bring a towel and water. For spin classes this is mandatory.

  • Leaving group exercise classes before the cool-down is strongly discouraged.

  • Personal items should be stored in lockers. Neither Campus Recreation nor its employees are responsible for lost, stolen or broken items.

  • Participants must have on proper footwear in order to participate.
    • Athletic shoes are required in all classes with the exception of Pilates and Yoga.  Aerobics or cross training shoes are recommended.
    • Socks and shoes must be removed in order to participate in Pilates or Yoga classes.

  • Classes and instructors may change without notice.

  • Participants may be asked to leave if they display inappropriate behavior or compromise the safety of the class.
