Cost Information:
| Class Tuition | $175.00 |
| Books | $80.00 |
Scheduling:
The evening non-credit scuba class meets 4 weeks on a Monday and Wednesday schedule. Each evening meets from 7 until 10 PM.
Open Water Dives
In order for a student to receive scuba certification s/he must also complete 5 open water dives. These dives are done over 2 dates. They usually occur on the Saturday morning at the end of the 3rd week and again after the 4th week. We currently go to Crystal River (Kings Spring) for the first 3 dives and then finish the remaining two dives at Blue Grotto (another spring).
Equipment
Each student MUST provide their own Mask, Fins and Snorkel. The student may want to wait until after the first class because an equipment lecture is given the first night and water work will not start until a week later. USF will provide tanks, air, regulators, buoyancy compensators and weight. The only potential rental item would be a wet suit for the open water dives (Typically they rent for $10).
