Multicultural Festival Committee
Started in 2006, this group of eight organizations worked with the City of Lakeland to proclamate September 16, 2006 as Multicultural Day. Chaired by the USF Lakeland diversity office the eight organizations are:
USF Lakeland Diversity Advisory Group
Started in 2005, this group is comprised of USF faculty, staff and students who help provide leadership and direction to the Director of Diversity for implementing, developing, and evaluating campus and community diversity strategies.
USF Lakeland Safe Zone
Started in 2006 This new group of diverse faculty and staff of have started to develop strategies to make the Lakeland campus and community environment more inclusive for the LGBT community.
USF Lakeland Welcome and Retention Committee
Started in 2005, this trailblazing group of faculty and staff have created an excellent foundation for welcoming new faculty and staff into the USF Lakeland community. Each new employee is paired with a buddy to help them adjust to Lakeland, Polk county and the Tampa/Orlando area.
