Duties:
Under direct supervision of the Media Innovation Team
Senior Software Engineer, and in ongoing collaboration
with Media Innovation Team colleagues, this position
coordinates, develops, tests, implements and documents
database-driven web and desktop applications in order t:
1) enhance online teaching and learning, 2) augment
instructional and informational impact and effectiveness
through the innovative utilization of current and
emerging technologies, and 3) facilitate the cultivation
of technology-enabled informational and instructional
efficiencies for USF faculty, and departmental,
administrative, and external clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information
Systems, Engineering, or computer related discipline,
and two years of experience in software application
development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three
years of post-degree, position-relevant full-time
experience developing mission critical web and database
applications. Experience working in a four-year,
not-for-profit university or college setting.
Experience working with VB.net, ASP.net, and SQL Server
programming; experience in object-oriented programming;
experience with USE CASE, UML, and writing technical
documentation. Knowledge and experience related to the
software development life cycle and rich internet
applications using AJAX.
Special Skills Necessary:
Significant knowledge of, and professional working
experience with ASP, ASP.Net, VB.Net, JavaScript, HTML,
Web Application Framework, XML, SQL Server, SQL,
Transact-SQL, AJAX, and Crystal Reports. Understanding
of web server configuration, management, and security.
