The Department of Industrial & Management Systems
Engineering at the University of South Florida invites
applications for a position starting August 2008,
contingent upon availability of funds. Preference will
be given at the level of Associate or Full Professor.
Applicants must specify the
rank for which they are applying.
Research and educational interests should intersect with
college-wide research thrusts
in engineering the service sector, particularly
healthcare systems engineering, and advanced
manufacturing, with emphasis in medical devices or
bioengineering. Candidates with research
interests in systems modeling and optimization, and
human factors/cognitive sciences are strongly encouraged
to apply.
Qualifications:
Candidates are expected to have excellent communication
skills, be able to work effectively in teams, integrate
research, education and service activities, and must be
committed to diversity among students, faculty and
staff. Candidates require an earned doctorate in
Industrial Engineering or related field. Appointment at
the Associate Professor rank requires a minimum of five
years of experience; a record of research, extramural
funding, and publications; and experience in either
teaching or training. Appointment at the Professor rank
requires a minimum of seven years of experience,
significant research and teaching experience; extramural
funding; and national recognition in industrial
engineering or related fields. The Department
