Employment Forms
To apply for a
currently advertised position, submit a
USF Application for Employment form by the
advertised deadline date (faculty should submit the
Certification of Employability
form in lieu of the application). Applicants for Faculty
or Administration positions may
initially submit a cover letter and resume or curriculum
vitae. Applications/resumes will only be accepted for
advertised positions. Unless otherwise indicated in the
advertisement, emailed or faxed employment applications
are not accepted. The University does not accept
unsolicited applications/resumes. If you are applying
for more than one position, you must submit an
application (or copy but with original signature) for
each position to the address indicated in the
advertisement.

Individuals who need
a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in
the application/selection process must contact Human

Campus Security
The safety and
security of all members of the campus community is of
vital concern to USF. The Student Handbook and Inside
USF (faculty/staff newsletter) includes information
annually concerning campus security and personal safety
which provides advice regarding crime prevention
strategies and details the law enforcement authority of
the University Police, pertinent policies concerning the
reporting of any crimes which may occur on the campus,
crime statistics for the most recent 3-year period, and
campus disciplinary procedures. A 24-hour summary of
crimes reported to the University Police Department is
also published on campus E-mail. Copies of this campus
security information may be requested from the
University of South Florida Police Department, Crime
Prevention Unit, Tampa, Florida 33620.
General Information

Human Resources
accepts applications Monday through Friday from 8:00
a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Applicants may also drop off their
completed applications in the Application Drop-off
Box located at the Campus Information Center on the
Tampa Campus (where the permit vending machines are
located) or outside the Human Resources office
located on the second floor of the Student Services
building. Unless otherwise indicated in the
advertisement, faxed employment applications are not
accepted.

Some positions
require fingerprinting and/or drug testing as a
condition of employment. The vacancy listing will
identify which positions require this.

Some positions
require attainment of a typing score in order to be
qualified for the position. This requirement is
identified in the minimum qualifications for the
position.

If you have not
heard from a department within 2-3 weeks after the
position's deadline date, you may assume you were
not selected for an interview. The hiring authority
is not required to send follow-up letters except to
applicants with a valid Veteran's Preference claim.

As a condition
of employment and promotion with a State agency,
Florida law requires employees to: sign a loyalty
oath; provide proof of completion for any sentence
relating to a felony conviction in Florida since
October 1990 for selling, trafficking in, or
conspiring to sell or traffic in, a controlled
substance; show proof of Selective Service
registration if you are a male between the ages of
18-26; show documentary proof on an Employment
Eligibility (I-9) form that you are authorized to
work in the United States; and have salary payments
electronically transferred to a financial
institution.
