Staff
Positions
Staff
positions are defined as positions assigned
professional, paraprofessional, administrative,
clerical, secretarial, technical, skilled crafts,
service, or maintenance duties. Employees in these
positions, after successfully completing a designated
probationary period, gain permanent status for the class
which provides the employee with rights to remain in the
class or to appeal certain adverse actions taken against
the employee while serving in the class.
Staff
employees normally work 40 hours per week, 8 a.m. - 5
p.m. unless otherwise designated.
To apply for a
Staff position,
submit a completed
USF
Application
for Employment form to either Human
Resources or the hiring authority as designated on the
vacancy listing. Applications must be received (or
postmarked) by the published date to be considered. If
you apply for more than one position, you must supply an
employment application (or copy) for each position.
Preference for
vacant Staff positions will be given to eligible veterans
and spouses of veterans as required by Florida
Statutes.
Positions noted as
"time limited" are Staff positions funded by contracts and grants,
auxiliaries, or local funds and have a specific
expiration date. Employees who are hired for such
positions are eligible to attain permanent status with
USF but are not entitled to retention or layoff rights
as of the end date of the appointment or prior to that
date if the funding source expires, is cancelled or is
under-funded.
