The Office of Sustainability is pleased to announce the appointment of the following Faculty Research Affiliates. These faculty members are actively engaged in research that is directly related to a range of sustainability issues at local and global scales. In their own, unique areas of scientific expertise, they provide technical advice and counsel to the Office of Sustainability.

Robert Brinkmann, Professor, Department of Geography

Research Interests: human alteration of soils, sediments, and water; geographical dimensions of soil pollution, archaeological deposits, and water quality; karst geomorphology and land use; Florida’s karst landscape; sinkhole geomorphology and sinkhole policy

Jeffrey Cunningham, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Research Interests: contaminant fate and transport in the (aqueous) environment; physical, chemical, and biological processes for water treatment and water quality control; water resources and water re-use; contaminant behavior in groundwater; groundwater remediation; geologic sequestration of carbon dioxide
