 USF Foundation Scholarships

Through the generosity of its many friends and alumni, the University of South Florida Foundation offers a wide variety of privately funded scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year. These scholarships reflect a donor’s commitment to the University and recognize either past endeavors or future success.

Privately funded scholarships may sometimes be awarded in addition to other financial aid you have been awarded through other campus offices. Although all scholarships are counted as part of any financial aid package, scholarships are a type of financial assistance that does not have to be repaid.

Some scholarships require separate applications; other scholarships consider any student who has been admitted for the upcoming school year. Various criteria are used to determine scholarship recipients, so it is important to thoroughly read all the information presented. You may direct questions regarding these scholarships to ua_scholarships@admin.usf.edu .

The scholarship search can be a challenging task, but very rewarding. This site will help you begin the search by listing privately funded scholarships, providing tips for applying, and linking to many other scholarship opportunities at USF. You are about to embark on a wonderful adventure - good luck!

Privately-funded scholarships range from book scholarships of $1,000 per year to scholarships that provide for the full cost of attendance when combined with the recipient’s other awards.  .  Of course, you cannot receive one if you do not apply.

In 2007-2008, almost 2200 USF students received $3 million in privately-funded scholarship dollars.

THE APPLICATION DEADLINE HAS PASSED AND NO FURTHER APPLICATIONS FOR USF FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE ACCEPTED. AWARD NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE MAILED TO THOSE STUDENTS WHO ARE AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS BY THE SECOND WEEK IN MAY, 2008.
