
Privately-funded scholarships range from book scholarships of $1,000
per year to scholarships that provide for the full cost of
attendance when combined with the recipient’s other awards. . Of
course, you cannot receive one if you do not apply.
In 2007-2008, almost 2200 USF students received $3 million in privately-funded scholarship dollars.

Q
Motor Sports Family Student Racer Scholarship Program –
Non-Renewable - Awards up to $1,000
The Q Motor Sports Family Student Racer Scholarship was established for
students with demonstrated academic achievement and community
service. Applicants must be competitive drivers in a motorsport
racing venue.
For Freshmen, currently enrolled and transfer students.
USF Women’s Club Grace Allen Scholarship Non-renewable up to $2,500 (up to 9 credit hours or 1 semester)
The Grace Allen Endowed Scholarship is made possible through the financial support of the members of the University of South Florida Women's Club. The scholarship supports non-traditional age undergraduate/graduate students who have resumed their educational pursuits or delayed entering college at a younger age. A limited number of annual awards up to $2500 will be made each year. Grace Allen Scholarships are typically non-renewable. Applicant must be a Florida resident. Recipient will be expected to attend the Fall Luncheon the third Monday in October. For Graduate Students.
Special Requirements: One page statement describing your personal interests and goals. Must have completed half of their graduate course work; must submit a copy of their official degree plan, which reflects current status towards completion of the Degree; must be 25 years of age prior to the beginning of the upcoming academic year by August 15TH prior to the fall semester. If a finalist, may be requested to be interviewed at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee;
Giovanna Zuppa Memorial Scholarship – Non-Renewable - $1,000 Award
This scholarship was developed in 1988 and implemented in 1992 by William Zuppa on behalf of the entire Zuppa family. The scholarship honors Giovanna Zuppa, who was born in 1900 in a small town in southern Italy. This need-based scholarship is intended to encourage American students involved in Italian culture to further their education at USF. Strong consideration will be given to American students of Italian heritage or students involved in Italian culture.
Special Requirements: A letter describing the applicant’s link to Italian heritage/culture.
For Freshmen, current and transfer students
Dr.Ike Tribble Memorial Scholarship - $2,500, renewable
Established in memory of Dr. Israel “Ike” Tribble, this scholarship
assists outstanding disadvantaged and/or minority students who have
proven themselves academically, but lack the financial resources to
attend the University of South Florida.
WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP & PHILANTHROPY SCHOLARSHIPS
The following awards are funded by women leaders and philanthropists who support quality
education, research and service.

WLP – Vincent Zecchino, M.D./Dream Givers USA Inc. Endowed Scholarship Program
Provides renewable financial support of up to $5,000 per year to USF students, with preference given to non-traditional women who are single mothers, and otherwise meet the eligibility requirements established from time to time by Dream Givers USA.
For Freshmen, currently enrolled and transfer students.
Special Requirements: One to two page essay that describes your commitment to your educational goals, any sacrifices involved, and how achieving your goals will help your family.

WLP-Bank of America East Tampa Scholarship
Provides a renewable award of up to
$1,000 per year for a USF student from the East Tampa area.
Preference is given to female students.

WLP-Berkman Family Scholarship
Provides a renewable award of up to $1,000 per year to a USF student, with preferences
given to females.
·
WLP-Florida Medical Clinic Foundation of Caring Scholarship
Provides a non-renewable award up to $1,000 per year to a USF student with preference given to female students pursuing a graduate degree in the College of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health or Physical Therapy. Must be a Florida resident, with preference given to residents of Hillsborough and Pasco Counties.

WLP-Esther Schneid Memorial Scholarship
Provides a renewable award of up to
$1,000 per year for a USF student, with preference given to females.
Award will be given based on financial need, Leadership position
held, & Community Service Activities should all be considerations.
Must be a Florida resident. Student can be an undergraduate or
graduate.

WLP-Linda Blume Award
Provides a renewable award of up to $500 per year to a USF student, with preference given to female students with documented learning disabilities who are recommended by the USF Tampa College of Education, demonstrate financial need as determined by the USF Financial Aid Office, and are in good academic standing. Linda Blume Award is awarded through the College of Education.

The following scholarships are offered by the Alumni Association:

Jose Garcia & Family Scholarship – Renewable - Award Amount $1,000
Scholarships for Hillsborough County residents with 3.0 GPA or
higher. Prefer entering freshmen with financial need.

Candy Creamer Schreck Scholarship – Non-Renewable – Award Amount
$1,000
Preference given to legacy applicants, resident assistance
applicants, and those with financial need.

Green & Gold Scholarship – Award Amount $1,000

Margaret Fisher Book Scholarship – Award Amount $1,000
This scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who through the
application process demonstrates academic excellence, community
spirit, and articulates their passion and desire to be a positive
force at USF. Preference given to legacy applicants and those
demonstrating financial need.

The Martin Luther King Scholarship – Award Amount Varies
This scholarship will be given to a student that has met USF entrance requirement who through
the application process demonstrates academic excellence, community
spirit, and articulates their passion and desire to be a positive
force at USF.

Mortar Board Scholarship – Award Amount Varies
For new and returning members of the National Mortar Board Society
and the USF Alumni Association.

Michael Kevin Brewer Memorial Scholarship
For students at Junior level or above.

The A. Harrison and Ruth Kosove Scholarship Program- Renewable Awards up to $10,000 annually
The Kosove Scholarship Program makes renewable scholarship awards that pay the full cost of Florida-resident tuition, books, housing and food service, or equivalent costs for students living off-campus, when combined with other financial aid awards the student receives. Awards are made for four academic years to undergraduate freshmen. Personal interviews are required.
Special Requirements: 1)One page essay that describes any interesting, unusual, or significant information about yourself; 2) two page essay that describes a significant international problem confronting our society that concerns you. Suggest one or more actions for improving the situation; 3) an additional letter of reference over the minimum of two.

LGBT Scholarship
This is a University wide scholarship designed to assist USF in
achieving and sustaining the education benefits of diversity and
increasing the number of USF students interested in issues affecting
the LGBT community.
Special Requirements: A personal statement indicating the
contributions made to the LGBT community through service and/or
leadership.

Tampa Chapter Transfer Student Scholarships - Must attend Tampa campus
For an incoming student transferring to USF from another institution
of higher education in the nation.

The Tampa Chapter Freshman Scholarship - Must attend Tampa campus
Recognize and assist an incoming student who has met the USF
entrance requirements.

Polk County Chapter Scholarship - Must attend Lakeland campus
Recognize and assist an incoming student who has met the USF entrance requirements.

Sarasota Manatee Chapter Scholarship - Must attend Sarasota campus
Recognize and assist an incoming student who has met the USF entrance requirements.

Pinellas Chapter Scholarship - Must attend St. Petersburg campus
Recognize and assist an incoming student who has met the USF entrance requirements.
THE INSTITUTE ON BLACK LIFE SCHOLARSHIPS
The Institute on Black Life (IBL) currently administers a number of
undergraduate scholarships, which were established to provide
academically talented students the opportunity to study at the
University of South Florida. All awards are need-based and require
students to complete a financial aid (FAFSA) application.
Scholarships from IBL are available to US Citizens and permanent
residents and preference may be given to students demonstrating
involvement in African-American culture and issues.

Robert Louis Allen Endowed Memorial Scholarship $1,000, non-renewable
The Robert Allen Scholarship was established by Mrs. Clara Allen and
family, friends and colleagues of Mr. Robert "Bob" Allen, former
director of the USF Office of Public Affairs. The award is made to
an undergraduate, degree seeking student, who has completed at least
three (3) semesters of satisfactory work at USF Majoring in Mass
Communications, Nursing or the Premedical Sciences (first priority
given to Mass Communications majors).

Ruth and Jerry Bell Endowed Scholarship – $1,000, non-renewable
The
Ruth and Jerry Bell Scholarship was established in 1990 and is
offered annually to an academically talented freshman, transfer, or
continuing student studying at the University of South Florida who
is a Florida resident. Preference is given to students who are
first-generation African-American students.

Catherine and John Lott Brown Endowed Scholarship – $1,000,
non-renewable
Named for President Emeritus Dr. John Lott Brown and his wife
Catherine, this scholarship provides opportunities for academically
talented minority students studying at USF who were in the top 25%
of their class during the senior year in high school.
·
Ivory Club Scholarship – $500, non-renewable
The Ivory Club award is $500 each award. Preference is given to individuals who are of African descent. No individuals will receive
the award more than once in two years.
