For Admitted Students Once you are admitted to USF, you have several important steps to take to ensure a smooth transition to the University. Admitted first-time-in-college freshmen must pay an admissions deposit to secure a place in the freshman class. (This deposit must be paid prior to Orientation registration.) USF invites you to attend our comprehensive Orientation program where you will discover what it means to be a USF student, both in and out of the classroom. The program will highlight academic resources available to students, allow you to speak with your academic advisor, and expose you to ways to get involved on campus. To ensure that all students are prepared for their transition, Orientation is mandatory for all new, transfer, and any student returning to campus. If you will be enrolling at one of USF's regional campuses, you should register for Orientation on that specific campus. You should also be sure that you have applied for on-campus housing and submitted applications for financial aid and scholarships (if applicable). An initiative titled "Tracking the Academic Progress of Students" (TAPS) is being implemented at USF beginning Academic Year 2005-06. Upon admission to the University, this system will ensure that all students are presented with a complete degree plan along with guaranteed availability of course selections when they declare their major. This system is exceptionally proactive and academic advising will play a pivotal role. For more information, visit the TAPS website.
