Next Steps for Admitted Freshmen

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of South Florida! We know that deciding where to attend college is a big decision, and we want you to feel comfortable that you’re making the right choice.

If it’s been a while since you visited our site, reacquaint yourself with USF’s top-rated academics, vibrant campus life, and spectacular Tampa Bay location. Can you see yourself at USF?

If your answer is YES (and we hope it is), use the links on the right to begin your journey as a USF Bull.

ACTIVATE YOUR NET ID

We want to stay in touch! If you haven’t already done so, visit my.usf.edu and activate your USF NetID and USF email address. Your USF email address will be used by all University offices for official communication.

Verify Personal Information

Log in to my.usf.edu and verify that your address, telephone number and email addresses are current. Make updates if necessary. Also, check your residency status to ensure you are charged the correct tuition rate.

APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS

Explore scholarship opportunities at USF. Most have a deadline of February 1. Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before March 1.

Apply for Housing & Meal Plan

Freshmen must live on campus and purchase a meal plan (exceptions may apply – contact Housing for details). Housing assignments are made based on the date of a completed housing application. To ensure you receive your preferred housing assignment, do not delay!

Submit Medical History

All new students must submit the official USF Medical History form and provide proof of immunizations to Student Health Services prior to registering for classes. Students living on campus must provide evidence of Meningitis vaccination to receive a housing assignment.

Submit Enrollment Deposit

Pay your non-refundable $200 enrollment deposit by December 1 (admitted for Spring term) or May 1 (admitted for Summer/Fall) to secure your place at USF. The deposit will be applied towards your first semester’s tuition and fees.

Register for Orientation

All new students must attend an orientation session. Once you have activated your NetID and paid your admissions deposit, you may register for your preferred orientation date.

Submit Final Transcripts

You must submit an official final transcript noting the date of your high school graduation by June 30. If you have dual enrollment, you also must provide an official college transcript.

Review Tuition and Fees

USF does not mail tuition bills. Once you are registered for classes, check your tuition due at my.usf.edu. Sign up for e-deposit to permit financial aid and student refunds to be directly deposited into your personal bank account.

Wrap Up Final Details

Obtain your USF ID card from the USF Card Center. If you plan to park on campus, purchase your USF parking permit. Purchase your textbooks from the USF Bookstore. Finally, be sure to complete the online Life Skills and Academic Integrity modules.

Connect with New Classmates

Join the Undergraduate Admissions Facebook page, the UConnect portal, and the New Student Network. Register for CampU and make friends before your first day. Be sure to attend Week of Welcome (WOW). It’s jam-packed with exciting events that make students feel connected to the campus community.
