Sport Club Supervisor

Sport Club Supervisor Positions Available for Fall 2009

The Sport Club Supervisor reports to the Sport Club Coordinator and Sport Club Graduate Assistant and serves as a liaison between the Sport Club Program Administration and the sport club athletes.  Supervisors will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the administration of the Sport Club Program, including: event management, club communication, office coverage, data collection, risk management, creating and implementing policies and procedures, marketing, and equipment inventory.

Requirements:

  1. Must be an enrolled student (as of Fall 2009) at the USF Tampa Campus
  2. Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications
  3. Must be available to work some weekdays, weeknights, and weekends (10 – 20 hours per week)
  4. Possess a general knowledge of sports and a genuine interest in serving students
  5. Must be a self-motivated individual who shows initiative and does not need constant supervision
  6. Possess a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher

Summer Camp Counselor

Summer Camp Counselor Positions Available for Summer 2009

The Summer Camp Counselor reports directly to the Summer Camp Coordinator and is responsible for the primary supervision of all camp participants.  Counselors will be responsible for the daily administration of the Summer Camp Program, including: ensuring the well-being and safety of all participants, administering games and activities (for outdoor, indoor, and pool environments), following all risk management protocol, providing daily feedback to the Summer Camp Coordinator, filling out paperwork and maintaining daily logs, and maintaining a fun and safe environment for the participants.

Requirements

  1. Must be at least 16 years old
  2. Maintain current Adult and Child CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications (provided during training)
  3. Must be available to work Mondays – Fridays (30 to 40 hours per week)
  4. Obtain van and golf cart driver certifications (provided during training)
  5. Must be a self-motivated individual who shows initiative and does not need constant supervision
  6. Genuine interest in working with children
  7. Possess a general knowledge of sports and games

  • Challenge Course Facilitators – Challenge course facilitators work with student organizations, community groups, and corporate groups with experiential learning opportunities. We are looking for energetic learners that like working with people. Experience is preferred but not necessary.

Fitness Staff -The Fitness Staff member oversees activities in the fitness area; provides basic knowledge, instruction and encouragement to participants. Fitness staff are there to help ensure a safe workout environment for our patrons. Some duties include instructing proper use of equipment, proper spotting techniques, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and general knowledge of fitness aspects. Fitness staff members must give excellent customer service to the participants.
Requirements Hold current CPR/First Aid certifications and be able to attend mandatory monthly staff meetings.

Personal TrainerThe Personal Trainer’s role is to promote healthy and active lifestyles among the USF students, staff, alumni and faculty. The Personal Trainer performs fitness assessments and provides custom exercise programming and supervision of clients.
RequirementsHold a personal training certification from A.C.S.M, N.S.C.A, ACE, or NASM and maintain current CPR/First Aid certifications

  • Group Fitness Instructor - A Group Fitness instructor is a qualified professional who leads and instructs participants in various exercise classes, both aerobic and non-aerobic in nature. An instructor must be able to lead a group fitness class through the entire duration of the class following proper safety precautions set forth by A.C.S.M. and A.F.A.A.

Responsibilities: Check the eligibility of all who enter the facility and assist with special programs and events.   Enforce policies and procedures, provide exceptional front line customer service in resolving customer concerns, interact with users in a friendly and courteous manner, record gate counts, control building paging system, answer questions regarding hours of operation, classes and programs. Act as a first responder when building supervisor needs assistance in the event of emergencies by calling 911 and support with injures.
Qualifications: Student must have excellent customer service skills, American Red Cross First Aid and CPR & AED certification, Cash handling skills. Also Payment Card Industry (PCI) certified required by the university.  (Must be certified within thirty (30) days of employment.  Campus Recreation provides training for cash handling, CPR & AED as well as PCI certification.)
Wages: $7.20 per hour  Hours: 10-20 per week
Exemplary employees are eligible for pay increases and staff promotions to Building Supervisor

Job Title:         Office Assistant

Purpose/Primary Function of the Position:  The OPS/FWS student or non-student employee will be cross-trained to provide customer service and support for both the membership services and various programs provided by the Campus Recreation department.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in greeting, screening and referring visitors to the appropriate Campus Recreation programs and staff.  Screen and direct all incoming telephone and walk-in inquiries.  Inform students, faculty/staff, alumni etc., regarding membership services, various programs, and other services offered by the recreational department.  Perform daily sales transactions for the variety of services offered by the Campus Recreation department.  Responsible for daily data entry of membership services, cash handling, filing, and other multi-task oriented items related to recreational services.

USF Campus Recreation Center is in search of a looking for a Certified Massage Therapist with no pressure, fun clients, and hours based upon your availability.  Some experience preferred.  Must provide current certified national massage license • Knowledgeable of various massage techniques (i.e. Deep Tissue, Relaxation, Swedish, Prenatal, Reflexology). • Must have pleasant and friendly demeanor and professional appearance.  Good communication skills, well-spoken, health oriented and confident in educating clients on various massage techniques. We are looking for an individual who is a team player but also able to work independently, holds strong work ethics and has excellent initiative.
