Usage of the Campus Recreation Fitness area is a privilege that can be revoked for not following policies of the facility. Please review the policies below carefully. They are in place for your safety and the comfort of all our patrons.
All patrons must bring a clean towel and wipe off equipment after use.
Patrons must wear workout clothes. No jeans, jean shorts or clothes with rivets permitted.
Sandals, flip-flops, open-toed shoes, or street shoes are not permitted.
String or ripped tank tops are not allowed.
Vinyl clothing or excessive clothing worn for the purpose of increasing sweat production is not permitted.
Patrons must return bars/weights to the proper place/rack immediately after use.
Patrons’ personal property such as books and backpacks must be stored in the storage cubicles or lockers. Bags are not allowed on the fitness room floor. Neither the REC nor its employees will be responsible for lost or stolen property.
Food and drinks are not permitted, except for water bottles with water.
Tobacco chewing/dipping or chewing gum is not permitted on the fitness room floor.
Each patron is expected to understand the proper use of each machine before using it. Questions about the proper use of any equipment should be directed to the fitness staff on duty.
Time is limited to a maximum of 30 minutes on all cardiovascular equipment when someone is waiting.
Fitness room users must be 16 years of age or older and must provide proof of age upon request.
Weight belts are not allowed on the exercise equipment where the belt buckles make contact with the upholstery.
A maximum of 4 patrons may share the same piece of equipment at one time.
Olympic weight lifting (explosive movements such as snatch /clean and jerk) is not allowed.
Users who break equipment due to misuse or misconduct can be suspended from the facility.
Profanity and yelling are not permitted in the fitness area.
