Thank you for your interest in the USF Private Group Fitness program. Please review the following FAQ’s that will help guide you through the process of requesting a class for your group/organization. We look forward to working with you.

Step 1: Review the Frequently Asked Questions
  1. What is a Private Group Fitness (PGF) Class?
    • PGF classes are one hour in length and taught privately to any specified on-campus group. PGF classes can be one time only or re-occurring. Classes are led by a certified group fitness instructor and are designed specifically for the group of participants requesting the class(es).
  2. What is the cost of a private class?

  3. Private Group Fitness – One Time Class
    Cost Number of Participants
    $60.00 35 or fewer
    $90.00 36 - 50
    $110.00 51+
    Private Group Fitness – Re-occurring
    Cost Number of Participants
    $45.00 35 or fewer
    $75.00 36 - 50
    $95.00 51+
    • Once your class has been scheduled you will receive a confirmation email with details on how to pay. We accept credit/debit payments, Interdepartmental Transfer and/or we can invoice your group/organization.
    • Re-occurring PGF classes must have a minimum of 4 sessions scheduled. Note: The minimum participant requirement for this type of class is six (6) participants.
  4. What types of classes can I choose from?
    • The following classes are available for you to choose from: Yoga, Pilates, Strength, Dance, and Cardio GX (heart-rate monitor driven workout).
  5. At what location are these classes held?
    • Classes are held at the Argos Fitness Center, located above Fresh Foods Café or at a location of your choice. Facility reservation charges may apply for alternative rooms inside the campus recreation main facility. If you choose to host the class at your own location YOU are responsible for all reservations and setup of that space. Note: Ideal locations for classes are those without carpet and with available space for furniture to be moved aside.
  6. Do I need to provide a sound system or any equipment for the class?
    • All music and music players including speakers are provided by the instructor if the class is scheduled at Argos Fitness Center. If a class is scheduled outside of Campus Recreation facilities, the requesting group must provide speakers for the instructor to connect an iPod/mp3 player to. NOTE: Participants are encouraged to bring their own mats for Yoga and Pilates classes; Campus Recreation can only provide a limited number of mats.
  7. How do I make a request to have an instructor teach a private class for my group?
    • If you would like to make a request for a private class please fill out the request form and return as directed. We cannot guarantee that every request received will be able to be filled; however, we will make our best effort to secure an instructor/space to accommodate your request.
