Veterans Services was established to provide specialized services to veterans, eligible dependents, active duty servicepersons, and members of the Selected Reserve. The staff assists students to initiate, continue, or resume their education, and use their Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) educational benefits.
The Veterans Services Office at USF is staffed by
three full-time staff and VA students under the
Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Work-Study program.
However, Veterans Services is not part of the VA.
The office is part of USF's Counseling
Center The staff provides a point-of-contact
for VA students attending USF, assisting VA students
with their use of VA Educational Benefits, and serves
as information and referral resources.
Veterans Services was established to act as a liaison, whenever possible, between the VA student and the VA or various USF offices and to help resolve problems.
Veterans Services is where the VA student will submit paperwork concerning VA educational benefits, which will then be forwarded to the VA.
