“One of the students in my class was in a fatal accident over the weekend while visiting home. I was told that the family does not want any contact nor any information shared. This is a very small class and quite interactive, how do I address this tragedy with the other students?”

“I have a student who has been very disruptive in the classroom and seems to be gaining some status with the other students. The behaviors seem just short of disciplinary action. What are my options?”

“One of my model students seems to have lost interest in her studies, in her life. I noticed she rarely comes to class any more and she bombed her mid-term. Yesterday, I noticed some severe bruising on her left arm. I don’t want to be intrusive and yet I don’t want to be negligent.”
  • Liaisons are available to Administrators, Faculty and Staff to provide direct assistance or referral assistance and to answer any questions or concerns regarding critical and routine circumstances.
“One of my students disclosed to me that her roommate’s friend was carrying a hand-gun on campus. She believes he is not a student and seemed genuinely concerned for her safety and the safety of others.”

“Ever since the physical assault last week, faculty and staff have been asking me what is being done to ensure their safety in the classroom and the workplace.”

“Tiffany came into my office crying. She explained that she is being stalked on campus by the same guy who had been cyber-stalking her. She said his emails were getting too weird and too frequent so she blocked him. Her parents told her to contact the University Police, but she felt more comfortable telling me.”
  • Liaisons are available to identify relevant educational interventions and prevention oriented services and programs for students at the request of an administrator, a faculty member, or the individual student.
