Videoconferencing

CTS can provide videoconferencing in both IP and ISDN formats. IP refers to internet protocol, while ISDN denotes compressed video over phone lines. Several classrooms on the Tampa Campus are outfitted with videoconferencing equipment: CIS 1044, CWY 107 & CWY 108. Additionally, portable units are available as part of our Audiovisual Department’s circulating collection.

There is no cost for videoconferencing when used as part of an academically accredited course. Costs for non-academic videoconferences will vary, depending on format, length, etc. But in general, a two hour IP videoconference will cost approximately $150 per hour. Included in this fee would be the use of the facility (seating for 35 and above), all necessary presentation equipment, support staff, and any necessary pre-testing, to ensure compatibility with the far site.
