__ September-December 2005
Conduct a nationwide scholarship search


__ October 2005-December 2005
Apply for admission to USF


__ November-December 2005
Apply for your federal PIN (parents of dependent students should also apply) so you can sign your FAFSA electronically


__ October 2005-January 2006
Financial Aid communicates via e-mail, so once you’re admitted, be sure to keep your e-mail address current in OASIS (OASIS is USF's Online Access Student Information System)


__ January-February 2006
Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Be sure to include an email address.

Make sure you include USF in the section that requests which schools should receive your information electronically. (USF’s federal school code is 001537.) If you did not include USF, when you applied, go back online and add it


__ February-August 2006
At least once a month, check your status in OASIS. If you need help with OASIS, go to our online tutorials

To find out if additional information is required of you:

  • Login to OASIS;
  • Choose “Financial Aid” menu;
  • Choose “My Requirements, Bookstore Authorizations and Deferments;”
  • Choose an aid year;
  • See if any unsatisfied requirements are listed for you.

Be sure to quickly provide additional information that is required of you.

__ March-April 2006
Review your Student Aid Report (SAR). Based on the information you provide on your FAFSA, the federal processor will mail you a SAR, ensure that all the information is correct


__ March-May 2006
New Students: Your Award Provisions accompany your Award Letter and detail what is required of you to receive and keep your aid; so read them carefully. You may need to accept some of your awards in OASIS.


__ April-August 2006

New borrowers:

  • Submit a Federal Stafford Lender Preference form.*
  • Complete an Entrance Interview.*
  • Submit your Promissory Note

* The Lender Preference & Entrance Interview will appear in your unsatisfied requirements in OASIS if you need to submit them.

All borrowers:
Login to OASIS and accept your loans & work-study, if awarded to you.


__ July - August 2006

Continuing Students:
View your awards in OASIS and read your Award Provisions carefully (2006-2007 Award Provisions will be available in February 2006).

Check OASIS to see if you have

  • deferments,
  • a BAPP (Bookstore Advance Purchase Program), and
  • to sign up for eDeposit. (eDeposit allows USF's Purchasing and Financial Services department to deposit funds directly to your personal bank account.)
