  Before loan funds will disburse, you must accept them in OASIS. If you are awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) funds, and you do not accept your award in OASIS by Friday of the first week of classes, your award will be cancelled.

If you are receiving financial aid, your tuition payment will be deferred.  If your total aid exceeds the amount you owe on your student account, you might qualify for the Bookstore Advance Purchase Program (BAPP) and/or housing and meal plan deferments.

Disbursement of Funds
Most payments you owe to the University are charged to your USF student account. Your student account is maintained by the University Controller Office (UCO). You cannot make deposits or withdrawals on your student account.

How your USF student account works:

  1. All available funds are disbursed to your student account each term after the drop/add period ends.
  2. All charges posted to your student account will be deducted.
  3. If all charges have been paid, you owe the University no money and a credit balance results, the remaining funds will be e-Deposited to your personal bank account (if you have subscribed via OASIS). If you have not subscribed to eDeposit, UCO will mail a check to the local address listed in OASIS (ensure that your correct mailing address is in OASIS).

If your disbursement includes Federal Stafford or PLUS funds that you do not wish to keep, you have 14 calendar days from the date of the disbursement to see a financial aid counselor to return the funds. If you receive funds from a private loan and do not wish to keep them, contact your lender directly.

USF processes all Federal PLUS electronically. Upon receipt, USF disburses Federal PLUS funds into your USF student account.

Federal regulations require the return of funds from uncashed checks to the Federal Student Aid Programs. Sign up for eDeposit in OASIS to avoid this.

Where do I go with questions about my student account?

Go to the University Controller's Office (UCO) in ADM 125 with questions:

  • about eDeposits;
  • about third party payments;
  • to request a refund;
  • about charges to your account, including the breakdown of tuition charges; and,
  • Florida Pre-Paid.

Go to ADM 131 (the Cashier’s Office) to pay in person or to pay by drop box.
