Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the March 1 Priority Application Date:  (Be sure to include an email address.)

Make sure you include USF in the section that requests which schools should receive your information electronically. (USF’s federal school code is 001537.) If you did not include USF, when you applied, go back online and add it.

__ February-August 2007
At least once a month, check your status in OASIS. If you need help with OASIS, go to our online tutorials at www.usf.edu/finaid/Publications/tutorials.htm.
 To find out if additional information is required of you:

  • Login to OASIS;
  • Choose “Financial Aid” menu;
  • Choose “My Requirements, Bookstore Authorizations and Deferments;”
  • Choose an aid year;
  • See if any unsatisfied requirements are listed for you.

Be sure to quickly provide additional information that is required of you.

__ March-April 2007
Review your Student Aid Report (SAR). Based on the information you provide on your FAFSA, the federal processor will mail you a SAR, ensure that all the information is correct.

__ March-May 2007
New Students: Your Award Provisions accompany your Award Letter and detail what is required of you to receive and keep your aid; so read them carefully. You may need to accept some of your awards in OASIS.

__ April-August 2007
All borrowers:
Login to OASIS and accept your loans & work-study, if awarded to you.

New borrowers:
Submit a Federal Stafford Lender Preference form.
Complete an Entrance Interview.
Submit your Master Promissory Note (MPN)

The Lender Preference & Entrance Interview will appear in your unsatisfied requirements in OASIS if you need to submit them.

__ June - July 2007
Sign up for eDeposit: If you sign up for eDeposit in OASIS, any funds due to you after your USF charges have been paid will be directly deposited into your own bank account.

__ July - August 2007
Continuing Students: View your awards in OASIS and read your Award Provisions carefully. Check OASIS to see if you have deferments, a BAPP (Bookstore Advance Purchase Program), and to sign up for eDeposit--if you have not already done so.
