Conduct a nationwide scholarship search: www.usf.edu/finaid/scholarships.html and search for USF.

October-December 2007
Apply for admission to USF:
www.usf.edu/apply.html

November-December 2007
Apply for your federal PIN (parents of dependent students should also apply) so you can sign your FAFSA electronically: www.pin.ed.gov

October 2007-January 2008
Financial Aid communicates via e-mail, so once you’re admitted, be sure to keep your e-mail address current in OASIS: www.usf.edu/oasis

January-February 2008
Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the March 1 Priority Application Date: www.fafsa.ed.gov (Be sure to include your email address.)
Make sure you include USF in the section that requests which schools should receive your information electronically. (USF’s federal school code is 001537.) If you did not include USF, when you applied, go back online and add it.

February-August 2008
At least once a month, check your status in OASIS. If you need help with OASIS, go to our online tutorials at www.usf.edu/finaid/Publications/tutorials.htm.

To find out if additional information is required of you:
• Login to OASIS;
• Choose “Student & Financial Aid”
• Choose “Financial Aid” menu;
• Choose “My Requirements, Bookstore Authorizations and Deferments;”
• Choose an aid year;
• See if any unsatisfied requirements are listed for you.

 

March-April 2008
Review your Student Aid Report (SAR) online to insure all information is correct: www.fafsa.ed.gov

March-May 2008
New Students: View the Award Provisions through the link provided with your online award letter. The Award Provisions detail what is required of you to receive and keep your aid; so read them carefully.

April-August 2008
All borrowers:
Login to OASIS to accept your loans & work-study, if awarded.
New borrowers:
Submit a Federal Stafford Lender Preference form.*
Complete an Entrance Interview.*
Submit your Master Promissory Note (MPN) to your lender. Links are provided at www.usf.edu/finaid/loans/staff_lenders.htm

June - July 2008
Continuing Students: View your awards in OASIS and read the Award Provisions carefully: www.usf.edu/finaid/award_provisions.htm
Sign up for eDeposit in OASIS so funds due to you after your USF charges have been paid will be direct deposited into your bank account.

August 2008
Check OASIS to see if you have deferments, a BAPP (Bookstore Advance Purchase Program), and to sign up for eDeposit--if you have not already done so.

* The Lender Preference & Entrance Interview will appear in your unsatisfied requirements in OASIS if you need to submit them.
