Financial Aid - Are You Ready?
Alternative Enrollment Alternative enrollment includes the programs listed below. Select a subject for more information.

  • You must be enrolled at least half-time while enrolled at another institution.
  • You must also be classified as an undergraduate degree seeking student at USF and in good academic standing.
  • You must obtain approval from your USF academic advisor to cross enroll at another institution.
  • Course credits must transfer back toward your USF degree for you to be eligible to receive financial aid.
  • A signed and completed Cross Enrollment Contract is required.
  • Transient study is when you are enrolled in zero USF credit hours while enrolled at least half-time at another institution.
  • You must remain classified as degree seeking at USF and be considered in good academic standing during this time.
  • You must have successfully completed at least one term of enrollment at USF to enroll as a transient student at another institution.
  • You must obtain approval from your USF academic advisor to be considered transient at another institution.
  • The approved course credits must transfer back toward your USF degree for you to be eligible to receive financial aid.
  •  A signed and completed Consortium Agreement for Transient Study is required.
  • Your eligibility for financial aid while participating in study abroad is the same as for enrollment in a standard program of study.
  • You must be classified as degree seeking at USF and be in good academic standing.
  • You are not eligible to receive Florida Bright Futures and some Undergraduate Admissions scholarship funds for study abroad courses.
  • Report any resources not listed on your award summary in OASIS
      • Choose ‘My Award and Loan Information’;
      • Choose ‘Award for Aid Year’;
      • Select the appropriate aid year;
      • Click on the ‘Resources/Additional Information’ tab
      • Enter the award information and click submit
    • If you need funds for purchase of airfare, deposit on an overseas study program, or other related expenses, prior to USF’s scheduled disbursement dates, consider pursuing a private loan.
    • If your study abroad program is direct registration through USF, you are not required to notice the Financial Aid Office.
    • If you will not be enrolled in any USF courses during your study abroad term or are enrolled in USF courses less than half-time, you must submit the Study Abroad Financial Aid Contract.  
        • Financial aid will not be disbursed until these initial requirements have been met.
        • Within 10 days of completion of your program abroad, you must submit verification of passing grades to the Financial Aid Office. 
        • You must also have an official transcript sent to USF for the courses you have taken abroad. Failure to do so will result in a hold placed on future financial aid.
Note: The National Student Exchange Program is on hiatus indefinitely.
