USF Foundation Investment Fee Policy

FAQ’s

 

Campaign Vision Statement: 

To provide each USF employee with a ‘giving opportunity’ (opportunity to support the USF fund designation of his / her choice) which is accessible, simple, intuitive, and fulfilling for each individual.

Campaign Mission Statement: 

To facilitate the Faculty & Staff Campaign for the University of South Florida so that each USF employee has the opportunity to become engaged and involved with the fundraising effort in support of USF’s students, faculty, staff, and programs.

 

USF Foundation Investment Fee Policy: 

The Investment Fee, a policy of the USF Foundation, assesses a 10% fee on gifts/pledge payments to operating accounts that are received through the USF Fund Direct Mail, Telefund, and Faculty & Staff   Campaign gift/pledge form and website. The fee is capped at $1,000 for those gifts/pledge payments of  $10,000 or more. The Investment Fee assessment is reinvested in the University’s annual giving operation to increase percent of alumni giving and total annual giving to USF.

1. I am having trouble logging in to the online giving site, what should I do?

4. My spouse also works at the University.  Will our joint gift count for both of us?

1.  I am having trouble logging in to the online giving site, what should I do?

 STEP 1: Ensure you are using the correct GEMS ID number to log in (000000_ _ _ _ _).

STEP 2: Contact the Faculty & Staff Campaign hotline at
(813) 974-4900 or fscampaign@admin.usf.edu for
help / troubleshooting.

Unfortunately you will not be able to make your gift online.

All employees hired after 12 / 1 / 2006: Please contact the Faculty & Staff Campaign hotline at (813) 974-4900 or fscampaign@admin.usf.edu to be added to the online database.

 

2.  Where can I designate my gift / pledge? 

You decide!  By designating your gift to the USF area of your choice, you are supporting the programs and initiatives here at USF that you are most passionate about.  There are thousands of funds to support; from research, academic programs, and student services, to athletics, the arts, scholarships, and more.  To search for a specific fund please log on and then search by keyword, fund number, or University college, campus, or area. 

 

3.   I have already made a gift to USF this year.  Will that count toward the Faculty & Staff Campaign for the University of South Florida? 

Yes.  Any gift / pledge made by a USF employee (both current and retired employees) during the current fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) will count toward this year’s Faculty & Staff Campaign. 

 

4.   My spouse also works at the University.  Will our joint gift count for both of us?
          

Yes. If you and your spouse are both employed by USF, you may contribute either separately or jointly. If you are making a joint gift, please provide the requested information on either the paper gift / pledge form or the online giving form

 

5.   What if my spouse works for a matching gift company?

If your spouse works for a matching gift company that offers a matching gift program , your gift may double or even triple.  Click on the link above to see if the company has a matching gift program, or ask your spouse to check with his or her human resource department.  Complete the proper paperwork and enclose it when returning your paper gift / pledge form. 

 

6.  Do I have to make my gift / pledge online?

While we highly encourage giving online , it is not the only way to make a gift / pledge to USF. You may also make your gift / pledge via the paper gift / pledge form - click here to download the form, or contact your area representative or the Faculty & Staff Campaign hotline at (813) 974-4900 or fscampaign@admin.usf.edu to obtain the gift / pledge form.

 

7.   What is an area representative / who is my area representative contact?

8.  I do not have my GEMS ID.  Where can I find that information?

You will need to use your GEMS ID (000000_ _ _ _ _) to log in to the site.  If you do not have your GEMS ID, please call Human Resources at (813) 974-2970 to obtain your GEMS ID.
