Message from the Dean:
Dear College of Engineering Community,
As a member of our team, I invite you to join us with your support of the Faculty & Staff campaign. This year has seen dramatic changes implemented and milestones achieved. The College received a $25.9 million gift in kind from Agilent Technologies, the largest in-kind gift ever at USF. Agilent has donated software licenses to only a few other highly ranked engineering programs, which puts USF in very elite company.
In addition, we have undertaken a major renovation project in Engineering II which supports and enhances undergraduate education. Most of this project is nearing completion but there is much more that needs to be done. In addition, state and discretionary funds only cover a fraction of the cost of the project. Thus, your support is vital. The USF Engineering Alumni Association has generously donated $75,000 to be the named sponsor of the Conference and Presentation Room (ENB 109). Bracken Engineering owned by Bill Bracken, ’89, ’MSCE 94, recently committed $25,000 and I have made my own major gift commitment to this, our top fundraising priority.
While the Agilent gift put us over the top for the Unstoppable campaign, we are still striving to meet financial goals, especially as it pertains to the renovation. I ask that you consider making your donation to the Engineering Building Facility Fund 229001. These funds will be used to complete and enhance the Engineering II renovation.
This year in appreciation of your gift, all faculty and staff who participate in the campaign with a gift of $25 or more designated to the building fund will be listed on the building renovation donor recognition wall in the lobby of Engineering II Building. In addition, all donors to the Faculty & Staff Campaign will be listed on the College’s website. All gifts must be received by June 30, 2013.
Please join me with your gift to support the renovations of ENB II. Thank you for your generous support.
Sincerely,
John M.Wiencek Professor and Dean
