Message from the Dean:
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity and vision of faculty and staff like you, the USF Libraries are becoming an exceptional academic research library. You help make it possible.
Your contributions have enabled us to grow our electronic and print resources, enhance services offered to faculty and students, award scholarships to deserving USF undergraduate and graduate students, and build distinctive research collections. Collaborations with USF faculty Carolyn Ellis, Manoug Manougian, Joan Kaywell, and others showcase the Libraries' leadership in solutions-based research through the growing genocide and young adult literature collections. Our strategic priorities are aligned closely with those of the University, among them student success and global sustainability. The University's emphasis on environmental sustainability shows clearly in the Libraries' work with such projects as the Karst Information Portal, the Gulf Oil Spill Information Center, and the Coastal Area Climate Change Education project.
You enable us to realign our resources and break new ground in our quest to be a top-tier academic research library. The renovations in our Library demonstrate a continued investment from the University in the Libraries' contributions to student success. The powerful suite of student learning and support services within the USF Tampa Library's Learning Commons, including our new state-of-the-art SMART Lab, are a centerpiece for student success.
Thank you for your invaluable support. Your continued commitment, and that of the University community, is critical if we are to become a globally recognized academic research library and continue to offer meaningful, relevant resources for all that we serve.
Sincerely,
William A. Garrison Dean, USF Libraries
