Temporary Positions
The University of South Florida introduced an online application
process,
Careers@USF,
effective 8/3/2009. If you have recently applied for a
position with USF, no further action is needed unless
you are contacted directly to complete an online
application for that position.
USF opened its doors in 1956, and in just fifty years,
we have become the 9th largest and one of the
two fastest growing research universities in the United
States, with an annual economic impact on the Tampa Bay
region of $3.2 billion. Temporary employment at USF is
a great way to get your foot in the door, while
experiencing the diversity of our community and unique
work environments.
Temporary (formerly OPS) positions are temporary at-will
positions and have limited benefits. The length of
employment for Temporary positions is determined by the
advertising department, not to exceed 2080 hours in a
two year period.
Non-Academic Temporary employees are not eligible for
our full range of benefits, including health insurance,
but do enjoy many other USF perks:
-
Eligible for participation
in the Temporary Employee Retirement Plan (TERP), or
the Voluntary Retirement Savings (457 and 403b)
Plans
-
Eligible for many of the
discounts and employee perks offered to USF
employees by local and national vendors
-
Childcare options
