United Way

Great news! The USF United Way Campaign website will be open until the end of January for on-line pledging via payroll deduction! So there is still time to go online and make your pledge at http://usfweb2.usf.edu/unitedway/
You may also download the paper form at http://usfweb2.usf.edu/unitedway/Forms/2006USFPledgeCard.pdf to pledge by cash, check, credit card, direct billing or payroll deduction, or get a paper pledge form from your Area Coordinator, or Human Resources, SVC 2172.
“
United Way plays a big role in making Tampa Bay a great place to live. I’d like to personally thank everyone who has already pledged, and for anyone who hasn’t, to invite them to make their pledge today. What each one of us does really makes a difference,” said Sandy Lovins, AVP of the Division of Human Resources and USF United Way Campaign Chair.

Change in Paycheck
Pick Up Procedures
All employees are encouraged to participate in Direct Deposit. Currently, anyone who is not participating and who receives a paper payroll check may pick up their check on paydays in the Human Resources Office (located in SVC 2172) between the hours of 10 AM – 5 PM. That process has not changed.
However, effective immediately any checks not picked up on payday may now be picked up only on non-payday Fridays (the alternate Friday from regular paydays) from 10 AM – 2 PM in the University Payroll Office (SVC 0067). Paychecks will not be available for pick-up at any other time.
Sandy Lovins, AVP of the Division of Human Resources said, “We encourage all our USF employees to take advantage of the benefits of being enrolled in the Direct Deposit program. It’s safe, secure, and guarantees your paycheck will be in your account on payday.”
USF employees without bank accounts who would like information on how to get enrolled may pick up information on financial institutions and banking options in Human Resources (SVC 2172) or call 813-974-2970. 2007 Professional Development Learning Series for USF Staff
Organization Development & Training at USF has announced three outstanding Learning Series, developed specifically for USF staff, beginning in late January.
Leadership Development Series: Through eight workshops leaders at all levels enhance their leadership understanding, develop abilities and skills, and get better results on the job. You may take all eight workshops or select only those which meet your leadership development needs now. The first in the series, “Leadership: From Theory to Action” is January 30 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
Tools for Trainers
: Leaders who can deliver effective training and development by mentoring and teaching others are critical in creating a learning organization. But helping adults acquire new skills and knowledge presents unique challenges. This series of four workshops kicks off February 7 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM with “Tools for Trainers – Engaging the Adult Learner.”
Customer Service @ USF: The Customer Service program is offered as a series of half-day programs every other week for seven sessions. The series is designed to support USF's strategic imperative to provide a student-centered, user-friendly administrative and service infrastructure. In a peer-centered learning environment guided by customer service experts, the program offers both new and experienced employees a forum for sharing best practices and discovering new and effective customer service skills. It all starts February 14 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon with a discussion on USF’s Standards of Service.
Registration for all ODT workshops is through GEMS Self Service. For more information, visit www.usf.edu/odt or contact Theresa M. Scott, Training Support Specialist at 4-3090 or odt@admin.usf.edu.
