Classification Redesign Project
The
Classification Redesign Project roll out has begun with the changes
taking effect on April 20th. A new area of the HR website
devoted entirely to Classification can be found
here. The new Classification site provides detailed information
about the classification redesign and new job classification
descriptions.
Between March 23rd and March 30th, managers and
supervisors meet with all A&P and USPS employees whose positions were
covered in the project to discuss how the classification redesign
affects them. In the next few weeks HR will offer several “town hall”
meetings for employees to meet with representatives from HR to learn
more about the overall project (not specific individual results) from
the origins of the project to the final implementation.
For
questions regarding classification redesign, please contact
JD Needham,
Assistant Director of HR Services at (813) 974-5719 or
jneedham@admin.usf.edu, and you’ll find additional contacts
here.

New Office Management Orientation Training Class
Organization Development & Training has announced a new two-hour class for new office managers or for staff performing office management duties.
“Office managers have been described as linking pins for USF,” said Theresa Scott, Training Support Specialist in ODT. “It’s a big job with numerous, complex duties and sometimes it’s hard to see how it all fits together, especially when you’re new. When experienced office managers were asked how they learned to do their job, their most common answer was ‘by doing it wrong and having to redo it’.”
Class participants will get an overview of USF’s departments, business systems and processes and will discover resources to help them find answers to questions. At the end of the course, participants will begin developing a personal learning plan of other courses tied to job functions and duties.
Registration for all workshops is through GEMS Self Service (Course Code: BPC150). For more information, visit
www.usf.edu/odt or contact Theresa Scott at 974-9116 or
odt@admin.usf.edu.
