Sick Leave Pool

The USF Sick Leave Pool (SLP) is a program whereby members contribute hours from their accrued sick leave to a central pool that all members can draw upon to allow the member to remain in a paid status for a specified period of time if they experience a serious, short-term medical condition and have exhausted all of their own leave, including sick, annual, compensatory and personal holiday leave. Members contribute 8 hours of their own sick leave (pro-rated for part-time employees) when they join the SLP, and are required to contribute additional hours from time to time, as needed to maintain the pool. Eligible full and part-time employees may join the Sick Leave Pool during its annual open enrollment period each April.
