WELCOME TO EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

Employee Relations (ER) provides education, training, mentoring and guidance to individual employees, supervisors, managers and administrators to address questions and workplace issues for non-Faculty employees.

ER Consultants work with managers and individual employees on effective employee-manager communications and provide individual coaching to improve employee performance and resolve conflicts and problems before the point of formal corrective action and grievance.

ER Consultants advise on and interpret university policies, procedures, regulations, labor contracts, and key state statutes and federal laws and oversee the university layoff and nonreappointment processes.

Our services include:

  • Performance management
  • Complaint resolution and conflict mediation
  • Counseling and formal discipline
  • Collective bargaining agreement compliance
  • Grievance procedures

Additionally, the following programs are centrally administered in Employee Relations: Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other job-protected leaves of absence, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) workplace accommodations, Workers’ Compensation medical treatment and supplemental wages for job-related injuries/illnesses, and applicable alcohol/drug testing (pre-employment and regulatory).

Refer to USF Regulations or USF System Policies on many ER topics, as well as for information on specific Faculty-related employee relations procedures and programs.
