Employees preparing for retirement should make an appointment to consult with their Benefits Representative in their Service Center. Once the employee has completed the retirement procedures, including submitting a letter of resignation, the HR departmental contact may prepare an Appointment Status Form (ASF) terminating the appointment. Note in the Remarks section of the ASF that the termination is due to retirement.
Rehiring of Retirees
Before any retiree returns to employment with USF, the HR Benefits department must be consulted to determine if there will be any adverse affect on their retirement. Once this has been resolved, the department must review and comply with university policy on rehired retirees (see FIND IT) and submit the appropriate form for approval.
