The Global Employment System or GEMS is the Human Resources system for managing personnel and payroll activities at USF. GEMS is the primary source of information on positions, appointments, payroll registers and budget summaries. Access to GEMS is limited to university employees. You can log into GEMS via the MyUSF Portal.
Careers @ USF
Careers @ USF is the HR system for managing positions, recruiting employees and tracking applicants to hire.
Appointment Status Form (ASF) in GEMS
ASF is the process in GEMS for generating an employment change form for departments. ASF's are used to request employment change actions, some pay change actions, some rehires and some miscellaneous data changes. Some processes have recently moved away from the ASF, so please review the information under the menu on this page for current information and requirements.
Attendance & Leave Tracking (ALT)
ALT is the module in GEMS for employees to request leave time, check their balances and for supervisors to approve leave requests. Leave coordinators may also adjust leave balances as appropriate.
CERTS is the university's online system for departments to report hours to be paid for their employees.
HR Organizational Development offers instructor-led and on-line training for all HR Online Resources. There are many classes available of specific interest to HR departmental contacts. A complete listing of GEMS training is available on the HR Organizational Development web site.
HR has provided a number of public queries and reports in GEMS to assist departments in working with their employment data. There is also a daily feed to the university Data Warehouse for basic employment data for those departments who prefer to write their own reports.
