Intended Audience: Future of current supervisors/managers and other organizational leaders who would like to improve their delegation and coaching skills. Part of the Fundamentals of Supervision Certificate Program.
Program Overview: The managers' responsibility is to "manage the operations and processes of the department" and to "develop staff members". The latter often is put on the back burner due to time and job pressures. This workshop emphasizes the importance of coaching employees so that the individual, the team and the university gain from that development.
Objectives: To increase manager's coaching behaviors that will encourage employees to stretch and develop to their highest potential.

Review Situational Leadership to assess the willingness and ability of team members ;

Learn effective questions for encouraging productivity and honest communication;

Assess your role as a manager;
Discuss setting SMART goals and expectations;
Group peer coaching activity.
