Intended Audience: Department contacts that deal wit HR related hiring questions, specific to hiring foreign national employees. Department office managers, fiscal and business analysts, or person in your department responsible to work with Human Resources to complete the hiring process should attend.
Program Overview: RightStart/Employing Foreign Nationals at USF is a workshop designed to aid departments in identifying the necessary steps involved when hiring foreign nationals. Discussion will include how to work with Human resources, International Affairs and Payroll to ensure compliance with the hiring process.
Objectives:
- To ensure audience understands the necessary items that must be completed when hiring and rehiring foreign national employees;
- To explain the liability involved and help departments avoid discrimination on all levels of the hiring process;
- To answer the common questions prior to hire and questions related specifically to F-1 students;
- To explain the RightStart process and specific tax laws and regulations related to hiring foreign national employees at USF.
