Orientation
All
new Latino Scholarship students are required to attend an orientation
in the summer. During orientation we discuss topics such as “All
you should know about the Latino Scholarship” and “Realities
of College Life” and listen to USF representatives about
services and other opportunities (Career Center, McNair Scholarship,
LACS program, ENLACE, and others). Students have the opportunity
to meet all new Latino Scholarship students, USF Faculty &
Staff, and USF student organization leaders. Families are encouraged
to attend. |

Feast of the Three Kings Picnic
¡Bienvenidos
estudiantes del Latino Scholarship y familiares! This is a family
picnic hosted by the USF Latin Advisory Committee. Latino Scholarship
students have the opportunity to learn about USF services and
resources through a Mini-Fair. Various offices set up display
tables and pass out information about the services their offices
provide. There are also lots of freebies. Each family brings
their favorite dish. There is lots of food, music and prizes.
The picnic takes place at USF Riverfront Park located on Fletcher
Avenue and the Hillsborough River, one mile east of the USF
campus. The 8th Annual Feast of the Three Kings Picnic
will be Sunday, January 12th from 1:00pm- 4:00pm.

Mentor-Graduate Lunch
¡Felicitaciones
estudiantes, padres y familiares! This luncheon is a celebration
of all graduating seniors each year. Each graduating student
is awarded a USF memento and sponsors are recognized. Our Five
Year Sponsor Honorees are also recognized and awarded a plaque.
This luncheon is attended by all graduating students, their
sponsors and their families. Chase Bank sponsors the event.
The 11th Annual USF Latino Scholarship Mentor-Graduate
Lunch will be Sunday, April 27th.

Congratulations!
¡Felicidades! The Latino Scholarship Office takes great
pride in recognizing and congratulating all of our graduates each
year. Many of our graduates have been interviewed by the media
before or after commencement and are featured in newspaper articles
or magazines. |
Latino
Scholarship Annual Award Ceremony
President
Juby Genshaft and the USF Latin Community Advisory Committee host
the Latino Scholarship Annual Award Ceremony. The event recognizes
between 50-55 renewing students and 20-25 new scholarship recipients
and the individuals, organizations and corporate partners who
invest in the scholarship program. It is attended by approximately
500 guests each year including students and their families, scholarship
sponsors, donors, corporate leaders and dignitaries, public officials,
and our USF faculty and Staff. |
