Writing Center consultations are fifty minutes long and begin at the top of each hour. Consultants do not offer proofreading or editing services; instead, sessions are conducted collaboratively, and consultants make suggestions to help writers develop their own work.

• Sessions begin with a discussion of the writing project.
• Together, the writer and the consultant develop a plan and identify focus areas for the consultation.
• While we concentrate primarily on global concerns—focus, development, organization, flow, and style—we also offer assistance with grammar and punctuation rules.
• Bring two copies of your paper to your paper to the Writing Center session and come prepared with specific questions for the consultant. The more focused writers are on what they would like to work on in the session, the more productive the conversation will be.
