Mission
The Organization Development & Training (ODT)
department at USF helps develop and improve our
organization by providing tools to foster continuous
learning, high levels of performance, institutional
growth, and individual career development.
Our Vision
As one of America’s top metropolitan research
universities, USF will be an organization where
learning takes place at all levels, where every
staff member is a lifelong learner.
Our Customers
Our primary customers are our university, its
constituent organizations, and our employees. As
consultants, we also serve USF community programs,
business and not-for-profit organizations on a
fee-for-service basis to improve organizational
effectiveness.
Our
Strategies

Transform organizations through action research
and planned interventions involving organization
and team culture, strategic planning, team
development, and process improvement.

Deliver learning and development programs to
serve the university's needs for training in
the areas of effective communication, strategic
planning, leadership, and customer service.

Serve as a focal point for all training
activities at USF, providing training and
coaching for departmental Subject Matter Experts
on design and delivery of effective training.

Establish a central hub for the scheduling,
communication and administration of employee
learning.

Provide guidance on recommended learning and
development for employees based on their roles
at USF.

Promote the use of e-learning applications for
appropriate skills and systems training.

Implement a business strategy to market and
deliver organization development consulting and
expert facilitation to organizations outside the
USF community.

Continuously improve the quality of internal and
external consulting and training services
through planned development of our staff’s
capabilities as OD experts and trainers.
