IFISB IFIS Space Survey for F&A Cost Study - Beginners Course:

The F&A Cost Study, also known as Indirect Costs, is a mechanism by which the University is compensated by the Federal Government for providing support and infrastructure services to sponsored research projects. Support and infrastructure services include space, utilities, maintenance, office staff, management staff, etc. This F&A Cost Study can have a multi-million dollar impact on the revenues to USF. Preparation for this audit requires the collection of information related to space and its usage. Some of this required information can be developed by the central administrative offices. However, some of the information can be provided only by the residents of the buildings. A web-based computer system has been developed to help with the data acquisition for this audit.Since these audits by the Federal Government can have a multi-million dollar impact to the University's revenue, it is imperative that all areas of the university complete the space survey in a timely manner.

Agenda:

  • Introduction to F&A Cost Study

  • Introduction to Space Data

  • Introduction to the IFIS System

  • F&A rules and regulations as related to space

  • Specific procedures to input data into the system

  • Specific procedures to certify data in the system

Training sessions will inform USF travel customers regarding necessary changes in business practices and travel policies; demonstrate new workflow and traveler profile structures; and provide basic hands-on instruction for electronic submission of Travel Authorizations, Expense Reports and Cash Advance Requests. The PCard and Travel Module interface will also be covered.
