Research and creative activities at the University of South Florida are
fundamental to its mission of excellence in teaching, research, and public
service. The promotion and support of these activities are the responsibilities
of the Office of Research and its Divisions, which provide services that enable
USF research faculty, staff, and students to be competitive in a dynamic research
environment. From assisting with the development of a grant proposal to filing a
patent to ensuring the safety of patients in research studies, the Research staff
are trained professionals, able to meet the needs of USF researchers.
USF researchers are helping shape their disciplines by bringing their talents and
resources to bear on issues of the world around us. We have developed
considerable research strength in such diverse areas as disease prevention and
treatment; technological and economic development; water and environmental studies;
education and well-being of young people. The impact of our engaged research can be
seen in the enhancement of the communities we serve and in the rising publication
rates and research contracts and grants that mark the ascendancy of a great research
university.
