Intern supervisors for institutions in the State University System may be given a non-transferable certificate (fee waiver) for each full academic term
during which the person serves as an intern supervisor.
The certificate covers the matriculation portion of tuition for up to six hours and is effective for three years. Students who have received a Certificate
of Participation and want the waiver applied need to turn in the signed original certificate to the Student Accounting Office in SVC 1039 no later then the fifth
day of the term. The certificate should have three signatures and cannot be expired.
Please contact the issuing University's College of Education for questions regarding certification.
Adoptee from Dept of Children and Family Svcs, Foster Care, Ward of the State and Special Risk A student would be eligible for a special risk waiver if his parent or guardian was killed in the line of duty while working as a law enforcement
officer or as a firefighter. The student would need to bring written verification from the agency specifying that the parent or guardian was killed in
the line of duty to the Student Accounting Office in SVC 1039.
For any student for whom the state is paying foster care, is a ward of the state or who is adopted from the Department of Children and Family Services
after 12/31/1997, certain tuition and related fees shall be waived. Students who are eligible should contact their state agency. Each term you plan to attend
the University a form will need to be submitted no later than the deadline date.
Students who have authorization or a letter of intent from an approved third party source (e.g., a company, embassy, state or government agency) must
bring such documentation with the "Fee Invoice" to the Student Accounts Office by the fee payment deadline. Employer tuition plans that reimburse the
employee do not qualify. The third party source must agree to pay the tuition upon receiving an invoice. Go to the
third party billing homepage for
more information.
Out of state waivers provide a reduction of the out of state portion of tuition and are granted by various departments to Non-Florida
residents upon admission to the University of Florida. Students do not apply for out-of-state waivers because they are granted by various
departments. Please contact your department for questions about out-of-state tuition waivers.
To determine if a department employs graduate assistants (and the eligibility requirements if they do),
students should contact the Graduate Program Director in the department of interest. Contact information may be found through the searchable
Graduate Programs link.
