Before You Go Live
What to do before launching your new web site.
- Share your site with others and gather their input. The most efficient way of doing this is by allowing a smaller audience to access your (beta) site and soliciting feedback via an online survey.
- Run a broken link checker. There is nothing more irritating than launching a new site with broken links.
- Always validate your HTML code. Please visit the World Wide Consortium (W3C) markup validation service.
- Check your site using multiple browsers. What looks good in one browser may, in fact, look completely different on another.
- Add Meta data to each Web page since it is used by some search engines to index and rank your Web site.
- Make your site accessible by individuals with disabilities. These guidelines are intended for all Web content developers.
- Check your spelling and grammar.
