Dental Insurance

There are four dental companies offering dental insurance to the University: CompBenefits (formerly American Dental), Cigna, Oral Health Services, and Denticare. To participate, eligible employees must enroll within 60 days of the starting date of employment. Changes can be made during the annual Open Enrollment or with a Qualifying Status Change (QSC) Event. Premiums are paid a month in advance and are deducted on a pre-tax basis. Enrollment is available in either a Prepaid Insurance Plan or an Indemnity Insurance Plan. With the Prepaid plans, employees are required to select a dentist from an approved list of providers. With the Indemnity Plan, employees are able to see any dentist that they choose.
