U.S. Savings Bonds

All employees are eligible to purchase U.S. Savings Bonds through post-tax payroll deductions. There are two types of Savings Bonds offered:

Series I Bonds:
Series I Bonds are a low-risk, liquid savings product. While you own them, they earn interest and help protect your savings from inflation. These bonds are sold at face value; i.e., you pay $50 for a $50 bond. Employees can purchase Series I Bonds in denominations of $50, $75, $100, $200, $500, and $1,000.

Series EE Bonds:
Series EE Bonds are safe, low-risk savings products that pay interest based on current market yields on Treasury Securities for up to 30 years. Series EE Bonds are a safe, secure way to save for the future. These bonds are sold at half their face value; i.e., you pay $25 for a $50 bond. Employees can purchase Series EE Bonds in denominations of $100, $200, $500, or $1,000.
