Hurricane Charley

All USF campuses were officially closed on Friday, August 13, 2004 and reopened Monday, August 16, 2004 for regular business.

Please remember the following:

1.)   Administrative leave was granted in an amount necessary to bring the employees up to their   normal hours for the workweek.

2.)   Employees on an approved leave of absence, with or without pay, at the time of the emergency closing were not to have the leave of absence changed to administrative leave.

3.)   Employees identified as "essential service personnel" who were required to work during the emergency earned special compensatory leave for those hours worked.

4.)   Only Professional and Salaried OPS were eligible to receive their regular biweekly pay regardless of the closing, if they were so certified.  Hourly OPS employees are not eligible for administrative leave due to the emergency closing.  If the workload required it, supervisors could allow the employee to adjust the workweek by working additional hours to bring the hourly OPS employees to their maximum hours for the workweek.

Additional questions or concerns should be directed to your department Attendance and Leave coordinator or Beverly Jerry at extension 4-5717 or Bjerry@admin.usf.edu.
