University of South Florida Staff Senate

The Staff (USPS) Senate was formed in the 1970’s as a way to enhance communication between USF Staff and the University President. We serve as an advisory body to the President and other university officers on issues pertaining to USF Staff and the working environment at USF. Our group represents all departments on all campuses.

News/Special Announcements:

The USF Staff Senate held a “Get to Know Your Staff Senator” event on March 15, 2012,  in the SVC Breezeway. This event is organized by the Staff Senate Staff Morale Committee, Chair/Co-Chaired by Marilyn Washington and Easter Curry.  There was a lot of good food, door prizes, and live music. Christy Chefalas, Senate President, had the pleasure of speaking to those in attendance as well as calling out the anticipated door prize numbers.  This annual event provides an opportunity and resource for USF staff employees to meet their USF Staff Senators and learn about the USF Staff Senate and all of its activities and accomplishments including the Quiet Quality Awards and Student Success. It was reported that 25 applications were accepted from those who are interested in joining the USF Staff Senate.

The USF Libraries continues its tradition of widespread participation in USF’s faculty staff campaign. You are invited to consider renewing your current gift or making a new contribution for the 2011-2012 year.  Whether you are able to give a one-time gift, a dollar or more per pay period or entertain a planned gift, your financial investment helps make the Libraries UNSTOPPABLE. If you are interested in supporting Children’s and Young Adult Literature, you may want to consider the newest fund established for the Libraries, 370007.  To consider 370007 or many other funds within the Library System to which you might want to contribute go to: http://usfweb2.usf.edu/fscc/college_campus_unit.asp?a=LIBFSCC
